Hotel Vila Sigal Korce
We chose Hotel Vila Sigal Korçë because it does something almost no other address in...
On a quiet residential street a few minutes on foot from Korçë's old bazaar, Legacy Boutique Hotel & Apartments keeps things deliberately small: five rooms, a full-time front desk around the clock, and an amenity list that reads more like a mountain resort than a city guesthouse. Guests arrive for the Old Bazaar and the city's museums, and find a house built for lingering rather than passing through, with a hot tub, a business centre and ski storage sitting side by side under one roof.
We chose this address because it does two things at once that most small hotels in Albania don't attempt together: it takes business travel seriously, with a dedicated business centre, meeting and banquet facilities, fax and photocopying on site, and it takes rest seriously, with a hot tub, daily housekeeping and 24-hour security. Fourteen reviews put it at a clean 10 out of 10, an unusually consistent score for a five-room house, and the four-star rating holds up against an equipment list — 77 items on the fiche — that few boutique addresses in the region can match.
Korçë is the largest city in Albania's southeast, built around a historic Ottoman-era bazaar that has been restored into a walkable grid of cobbled lanes, craft shops and cafés. The hotel sits close enough to reach it on foot, within easy range too of the city's Orthodox cathedral and its museums of medieval and modern art. Korçë also works as a gateway to the mountains: the Morava range and the small ski station at Dardhë lie a short drive away, which explains the ski storage and the skiing and horse-riding tags on the property's own listing — a detail that tells you this house is used by travellers heading up into the hills as much as by those staying in town.

With only five rooms, housekeeping happens daily and check-in can be arranged privately rather than at a shared desk. Air conditioning, heating, non-smoking rooms and a trouser press cover the basics; family rooms and children's meals are available for those travelling with kids, and the property allows late check-in up to midnight for anyone arriving after a long drive from Tirana or across the border from Greece.
The combination of a boardroom and a jacuzzi is the clearest signal of who this house is built for: consultants and small delegations visiting Korçë's businesses by day, who still want a proper wind-down in the evening, and travellers using the city as a base before heading up to Dardhë or Voskopojë. Luggage storage, currency exchange, tour desk assistance and an airport shuttle round out a list built for people who move around rather than settle into one sight.
Check-in runs from 2pm to midnight and check-out is at 11am; the hotel accepts children and offers family rooms, but has no facilities for pets. Reception speaks Albanian, Italian and English. With only five rooms, the house fills quickly around Korçë's beer festival and other autumn events, so an early booking is worth the five minutes it takes.
